Gift Cards / Gift Certificates

WARNING: This is the recommended settings based on what we know right now! Zr Ware™ doesn't fully support gift certificates. It is a feature we are looking at adding in the future. If you add these settings or your own settings to try and replicate gift certificates through Zr Ware™ we are not responsible if any losses that may occur or if any reporting is off.

Create two new line items:
Gift Card Purchase 
Gift Card Redemption

Reporting Settings

The Gift Card Purchase line item will affect:

Revenue - Box should be checked.

Upsell - Check if you want the tech that sells it to get payment in advance.

Payroll - Check if you want it to affect payroll.

Scoreboard - Box should be checked.

The Gift Card Redemption line item will affect:

Revenue - Box should be checked.

Upsell - should not be checked unless you left the purchase line items upsell unchecked and would like the tech to get payment when the card is redeemed. 

Payroll - Should not be checked.

Scoreboard - Box should be checked

How to use it?

You can create a booking when they are paying in advance and add the gift card purchase line item. Then when they have the service done you create a new booking and add the redemption line item to that.

Why is the revenue box checked for both?

Both the gift certificate purchase and gift certificate redemption would affect revenue.

If the affects revenue flags are different on the redemption and purchase, then revenue is either under- or over-reported (using zr ware reports on total revenue).
