If the customer is present, they will complete the following steps when going through the payment flow:
1. Quality Control Questions (Optional)
Quality Control Questions can be optionally displayed at this step.
They can be turned on by Admins in Admin → Company. If the feature is on, then any number of "Yes/No" questions may be used in this section.
If the feature is off, no questions will be displayed at this point, and the next step will be presented instead.
The customer should answer all of these questions.
2. Callback Subscription Questions (Optional)
Callback Subscription Questions can be optionally displayed at this step.
If headquarters has turned your subscription feature on. Admins can turn on the Callback Subscription feature by going into Admin → Subscriptions. Admins can also choose if they would like the subscription option to show up in the tech app.
If the subscription callback feature is off or the admin setting to allow subscription on the tech app is unchecked, no questions will be displayed at this point, and the next step will be presented instead.
If the customer has not subscribed to callbacks yet, they will see a screen similar to the one below.
If the customer has subscribed already they will see a screen similar to the one below.
3. Recurring Appointment Questions (Optional)
Recurring Appointment Questions can be optionally displayed at this step in the Payment Flow.
If headquarters has turned your subscription feature on, admins can turn on the Recurring Appointment feature by going into Admin → Subscriptions.
If the admin setting to allow Recurring Appointments to be opted into from the technicians phone is off (Admin → Subscriptions ), no questions will be displayed at this point from the technicians phone (it will still show up in the User Invoice Link), and the next step will be presented instead.
If your base is opted into Recurring Appointment subscriptions and the customer has opted into either callback or recurring appointment subscriptions, they will see a screen similar to the one below.
If the customer has not opted into Recurring Appointments yet or if the select "Change" from the image above, they will see a screen similar to the one below.
Selecting any of the 3, 6 or 12 month options will create a recurring appointment with any included discount.
Selecting 'No Thanks' will not create any recurring appointment and they can move forward with the payment process.
4. Select Payment Method
The customer then selects which payment method to use.
Payment methods are configured in Admin > Payment Methods.
User Invoice Link through Text: For now, if the customer clicks on either the check or cash payment it will prompt them to give the payment to the technician and he/she will enter it into the app. In other words, it will not let the customer add a cash or check payment without the technician.
User Invoice Link through the Job Completed Email: This will only show the Credit Card payment option.
5. Tips (Optional)
Tips are also an optional feature in this process.They can be enabled or disabled in Admin → Invoice. If they are disabled, this step will be skipped altogether and the next step will be presented instead. If they are enabled, they will be able to choose whether or not to add a tip amount to their final invoice. The percentage amount can be adjusted in Admin > Invoice.
6. Review Invoice
At this stage, the customer can review all products and services present on the invoice, including tips if applicable, and go over any questions they might have.
When they are satisfied that the final amount is correct, they can approve the invoice by pressing the approve button.
8. Add Payment
Tech App: After signing to approve the invoice, the customer hands the device back to the technician and the technician takes payment.
This screen will not show on the User Invoice Link email payment flow.
- If the customer chose cash or check, they will be asked to give the payment to the technician and the technician will enter the payment into their device.
- If the customer chose Credit/Debit or ACH payment, they will be prompted to input the payment information.
- Bases that use Square will have the option to take Google Pay or Apple Pay (Safari browser only).
- Bases that use Square will have the option to take payment via Afterpay. Afterpay is allows customer to make 4 recurring payments over time with the first payment due on the current day.
